The Weight Calculator plug-in is created by Achelon
in Italy.
The Weight Calculator plug-in allows one to compute the solid weight using material properties.
The plug-in provides the ability to approximate the weight of a model based on the type of material chosen. The material is selected from an extensive list of materials commonly used in the manufacturing industry.
Materials can be added, deleted or modified from the list supplied with the software. This allows the User to customize the material list to their specific needs.
In this way various material types can be explored to see the impact on the weight of the part or assembly. This information is also extremely useful for buyers and people generating quotes.
The result of this operation can be shown on the screen and eventually included in the .3d file as a markup
The plug-in allows the following information:
- Add/modify/remove materials and weight specifications
- Set weight visualization
- Set markup information
- Set the precision
- Set the type of parts to calculate weight
- Choose the method of parts selection
The process of calculating weight.
- Update the materials list
- Update general settings
- Select the material used
- Calculate the weight
- Position the new markup annotation
To calculate weight, click the Calculate Weight! button from the main tool bar or Icon Bar.
To change the settings, click the General Settings button from the main tool bar.
To change the Material, click the Current Material button from the main tool bar.
Any material weight values containing decimal places must use a period ('.') character for the decimal place for all languages and operating systems. The Weight Calculator plug-in will remove commas entered.
The Material Table for the local users is located in the follwoing folder;
C:\ProgramData\Actify Inc\SpinFire100\11.0.1535.3\GestPesi.ini
Note: The 11.0.1535.3 folder will change according to the Build of SpinFire 10.0 installed.
This Materal list can be modified manually by opening the above file in Notepad.
It can also be copied to this folder on other PC's so multiple users have access to the same Table.
