CAD2CAD Export Options


The CAD2CAD Conversion action converts one CAD format to the other. There are two places to control what is exported into the new CAD format.

  1. On reading the current CAD file (importer options)
  2. On writing to the new CAD file (export options)

Importer options will affect how CAD files are read and what to include and exporter options dictates what to write out to the new CAD file.

Exporter options can be set on the CAD2CAD Conversion action under each format. Most formats have these controls except the following:

  • HSF 
  • ACIS - binary(.SAB)
  • VRML

Exporter Options by Format

PDF

OptionDefinition
PDF template filepath

Template to use when creating the PDF.

Background ColorSets the background color
B-rep Compression

Sets the level of the B-rep data compression.

Choose None, Low, Medium, or high.

Remove B-repRemoves the B-rep from the exported file.
Tessellation CompressionGenerates tessellation from the b-rep data.

Ignored if Remove B-rep is enabled.

The tessellation quality generated from B-rep data.

Current Tessellation Retention

Keep the current tessellation.
Tessellation Maximum Edge LengthThe maximum length of triangle edges in tessellation data
Custom TessellationSelect to adjust custom tessellation settings
Accurate TessellationUse the "accurate" tessellation algorithm.
Tessellation Angle ToleranceSet the maximum degrees of the angle between two wire elements in tessellation.
Tessellation Chord Height RatioThe ratio between the chord height and the bounding box height.
Tessellation Chord Height LimitMaximum distance between the surface and the tessellation
Tessellation Chord Limit Type

The chord limit type.

U3D

OptionDescription
CompressionSet the level of tessellation to apply to the data on export.
Version

Choose the U3D version to export.
