Overview

Centro 7.7.0 makes improvements in the following areas.


Note: Do not update the ArangoDb instance beyond ArangoDB v3.3.11. This may cause search feature to stop functioning.

Changes

Fixes were issued for:

  • Admin

    • The roles section of Project permissions modal makes usage difficult with lot of roles

    • The Admin page throws exception (using Internet Explorer)

  • API

    • Possible to create the Project Custom Properties/Property Sets with an empty name field via API.

    • Possible to create a project with an empty name via API

    • Endpoint GET /api/catalog/part/unique does not work

  • BOM Manager

    • BOM Manager: selecting checkbox of attribute section does not select all sub attributes

    • BOM Compare inconsistencies

  • Catalog

    • Catalog Parts created with the "Create" button or web API have a modified date that is earlier than creation date

    • Errors in console on PartView page when Resource does not have generate options

    • The renamed Catalog Part Name with <> shows in assembly tree only after reloading page

    • Centro Control status information is not updated in Assembly Resource Manager

    • User is able to edit Catalog Part name despite having only Read access to the part

    • User with Read only permissions can add and remove a Catalog part from a project.

    • The caret of the Tags filter in Part View is displayed on a new line with Firefox

  • Check In/Check Out

    • It's impossible to check in a file with % in name.

    • CheckOut errors in Centro Catalog and in Pipelines

    • No activity recorded when a Resource is restored through an upload/check-in operation

  • Installation

    • SMTP settings are re-writing after upgrading versions.
  • Jobs Explorer

    • Job report modal does not display all the jobs selected by the filter in Jobs Explorer

    • Error thrown in JobsExplorer breaks UI

  • Pipelines

    • When a Trigger fails to deploy, the Pipeline deployment should fail

    • Pipeline with polling directory watcher on inaccessible network drive cannot be unstaged

    • Unique constraint violated for "CatalogId" in "Cad to Catalog" Action

    • Jobs Explorer's Pipeline selection displays the list of all available Pipelines

  • Projects

    • Exception in console when the Project Custom Properties description value contains percentage

    • Project permission setting button highlighting incorrect

    • The Edit Project button in the AdminArea is disabled erroneously

    • Percentage in the custom property name doesn't allow showing label on the Edit Project window

    • Location panels in Project page expands/collapses only when clicking on the name

    • The count of a Project's Catalog Parts should be singular when it is 1

    • Datepicker windows overlap each other on Projects page

  • Resources

    • A part first detected as 'with-geometry' cannot not be set as 'no-geometry' in the future

    • 'Derived from an older version of CAD file' icon overlaps the filter field

    • The resource generation with a special Catalog ID throws exception

    • Deleting a 3D search removes the last item in Current Searches

    • 3DSearch: Resources are removed from ShapeSearch when deleted causing problems if they are restored

    • Missing translation of alert message for deleting 3D search

    • Advanced Search tile result display breaks when the time wraps

  • SpinFire Web

    • SpinFire Web Assembly Tree does not reflect proper part hidden state when first opening a model

    • Scroll at the bottom of tree is overlapped with some element and can't be selected

    • A CATProduct assemblies that reference JT files do not show the JT model in SFW.

  • Upload

    • Web app does not log error when uploading Resource fail unexpectedly

    • The '+' character is removed from the filename when uploading a resource or checking in a resource.

    • It's impossible to upload a NX type parts

  • Users

    • Updating an LDAP role will remove it's external link and properties.

    • FullUser email is shown for all canned search results

    • Locked user unable to log in after lock time has expired

Installation Notes

If you have picked up the previously issued 7.6.3 and/or have had your instance manually patched by Actify support or engineering, it is unnecessary to install 7.7.0.

Important Notes

  • Organizations using LDAP and upgrading to Centro 7.7.0 may run into an issue where the LDAP.ActiveDirectory.rootURL key may be duplicated in the appSettings.config file.
    • This may cause issues and confusion when trying to run the WebApp and when importing LDAP users.
    • Work Around:
      1. Edit C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Centro\Configuration\appSettings.config.
      2. Find and remove the duplicate LDAP.ActiveDirectory.rootURL value.
      3. Save.
      4. Restart the web app.

  • Centro 7.7.0 has new permissions that govern deleting resources, changing a catalog part's project, and allowing users to manually create a catalog part.
    • In previous versions, catalog users could perform these functions.
    • In Centro 7.7.0, these permissions are defaulted as disabled; in other words, users who used these related features will not be able to use them unless their permissions have been changed accordingly.
    • Please review your organization's permissions policy surround Centro and set these accordingly.
