FlexLM User View
The following will allow users to check the status of the FlexLM server and see who may be using a SpinFire Ultimate license.
You will need the “lmutil.exe” utility installed on your machine, see links below:
- 64Bit: lmutil V11.10 64Bit
- 32Bit: lmutil V11.10 32Bit
Steps:
- Copy the lmutil.exe file to a shared directory on your network. Be sure the Client has access to the license Server using the DNS resolution.
- Create a Batch file with the following information:
ECHO OFF
ECHO License Manager query SpinFire PRO Start
lmutil lmstat -c port number@server name -f SpinFire11
pause
ECHO License Manager query end
Note: You will need to enter the TCP / IP port number and the server name or the server IP address.
- Example: lmutil lmstat -c 27000@Dell-M4500 -f SpinFire11
The results of the command should look like the following:

Feature usage info:
Verify Service
- In LMTools, click on the Server Status and click on the Perform Status Enquiry.
- Verify there are no errors.
- Once the system is set up correctly, one can check Windows Services to see the Actify License Manager status as Started.
